O Single Registration it is a specific record that allows the government to know in detail who low-income families are and how they live in Brazil. Through it, the eligible people can also participate in various government programs.
So that the benefits are not suspended, families need to update the data every two years or whenever there is a change in the composition of the group, directly in a CRAS.

What is Single Registration?
O Single Registration was officially created by the Federal Government, whose objective is to closely monitor families that are in a vulnerable situation, so that they can acquire specific benefits.
Currently, the system is updated and operated directly by the municipalities, completely free of charge. In March 2022, the application was created in order to make life easier for those who are registered.
It is important to comment here that CadÚnico allows families to participate in government programs, but each one of them has its own rules and the register must be updated with a certain frequency.
Programs that use CadÚnico
Through the CadÚnico database, it is possible for families able to participate in the programs to be carefully selected. Here are some of the main programs that use this system:
- Electric Energy Social Tariff Program;
- Brazil Aid Program;
- Youth ID;
- Bolsa Verde Program;
- Exemption from Fees in Public Tenders;
- Casa Verde and Yellow Program;
- Elderly Card
- Among others.
If you are interested in having one of these social programs, you will need to register on the Single Registration, and pre-registration can also be done online in order to speed up the process.
About pre-registration
Citizens who are not registered can pre-register through the application Single Registration, which is free and compatible with iOS and Android devices. In addition, it is also possible to register in the Single Registry website.
Through pre-registration, citizens can provide important data for their registration and after sending them, they will have 240 days to appear in person at a CadÚnico Service Point to present the documentation.
It is important to point out that the documents and complements are mandatory for the registration to be completed, and only then can the citizen be entitled to request social benefits from the Federal Government.
How to update the Cadastro Único data through the app
After the launch of the application, families already registered can Update the Single Registry via the Internet in cases where there were no significant changes in relation to the composition of the group. If this is your case, follow these steps:
- Make sure you have internet access and then open your phone's app store;
- Then search for “Single Registration” and tap on the official application;
- Select the install button and once the procedure is completed, open the app;
- On the home screen you will need to login with the account gov.br and if you don't have one yet, just create it;
- When you can access the app, select the main menu and tap on “Cadastral update by confirmation”;
- Fill in the necessary data, insert the new information regarding the family or just confirm the existing ones;
- Finally, just click on “Submit registration”.
In the case of families that have had important changes in their composition, the responsible person must go to the CRAS with the documents of all in order to update them correctly, otherwise the benefits will be suspended.
Who can count on CadÚnico?
O Single Registration aims to make social programs available to specific families, so that to join it, those interested must meet the prerequisites mentioned below:
- The family must have a monthly income per person of at most half a minimum wage;
- Families that have an income lower than the one commented above, but are linked or interested in some specific benefit that uses CadÚnico in their concession.
Here, it is important to highlight that a responsible family member must be defined, whose responsibility will be to carry out the registration of the family, as well as keeping it updated every two years, as determined by the rules of the service.
